Carbon intensity: CO2 emissions (kg of CO2 per PPP $ of GDP) - 2006
Carbon dioxide emissions are those stemming from the burning of fossil fuels and the manufacture of cement. They include carbon dioxide produced during consumption of solid, liquid, and gas fuels and gas flaring. Carbon intensity of the economy, refers to the amount of carbon dioxide generated by every dollar of growth in the economy. It is the ratio of emitted CO2 to GDP (in PPP terms).
Note: 2006 World Average is 0 kg per PPP $ of GDP and 1 for 2005. Official MDG indicator related to Target 7.A : Integrate the principles of sustainable development into country policies and programmes and reverse the loss of environmental resources
